In 1831, Honore De Balzac published a tale called “La Peau de Chagrin”. The novel dramatized his philosophical propositions on will, power and knowledge by telling the tale of a young man who stumbles upon a talisman that fulfills his every desire. The talisman, a piece of shagreen, becomes a metaphor for this man's soul. 

The tale has become our little joke. So in honor of Balzac, we've introduced "Le peau de chagrin," a wall-decor line by ShagreenArt.
